Submit a Picture for Identification
The primary function of Spider Identification.org is to allow the public to submit spider pictures for proper identification. Even if you already know what the spider is, we welcome your submission. However, before you email us your picture, please keep the following in mind:- Identifying spiders is not easy. A detailed picture of the spider is needed to aid in proper identification. We understand that not everyone has the most high-tech camera equipment. We also understand that most people are generally afraid of spiders. However, it is important for you to know before submitting a picture, that we wish only to post pictures that can be potentially identified. If the picture is 'zoomed out' too far, we may not post it.
- Submit your picture even if you know what it is! Sending us a great spider picture helps grow our North American database. As this grows, we will be able to give people a better sense of where spiders are most often seen.
- Copyright. You will maintain all rights to the image. Submitting it to us gives us a royalty free license to post it and use in content and promotion of Spider Identification.org. You will be cited as the rightful owner of the image.

with the following information:
- Your name. When giving you credit, please tell us what name to show. We have no requirements here, and we have no problems stating 'anonymous'. (Examples are John Doe, John D., J.D., or just John).
- Location. Please include the city, state, and country. This information is extremely important as it allows our visitors to know exactly where the given spider was seen.
- Website or blog. If you have a website or blog, we would be happy to link to it.
- Email. We will never list your email on this site, or share it with any third parties. We hate spam just as much as you do.
- Picture. Please give us as much information as possible as to where you saw the spider. We will moderate and edit this for length, but it is nice to share a complete description of where the spider was when the photo was taken.
Most importantly, please send us the highest resolution picture you have. You do not need to size this down before sending it to us.
